We are ALL earthlings.

If this post is meant to be about zoos, I’d like to add something.

I believe that zoo animals should, for the most part, be free rather than caged. However, many zoo animals are kept in capitivity because they are unable to live in the wild due to health concerns, etc. For example, there is a small, privately run zoo near my house in Maryland. All of their animals are rescued from exotic pet owners who a) didn’t care for them properly or b) acquired them illegally. They have retired show and circus animals who, otherwise, may have been euthanised. They have animals that other zoos did not want because of “defects”, such as a giraffe with a clubbed foot. As a matter of fact, that giraffe is probably the sweetest animal ever, and I go to the zoo on Saturdays to feed him kale and pet his silly nose. They’re happy, well-cared for, their presence there helps to educate people on why animals should be respected.

Not all zoos are bad.

The monkey in this post is from an animal testing lab.
